It’s impossible to love without hating. One can’t love good without hating evil. God loves righteousness and hates evil. God can’t love good without hating evil. God can’t love truth without hating lies. But today we have teachers and leaders who say they love truth without hating and exposing lies. They are performing a feat that even God can’t perform namely- loving truth without hating and exposing lies.
One reason your pastor/leader doesn’t warn you against false teachers is that he himself may be one of them- if not as big as them- but on a lower level.
You will usually see that they talk about showing love and giving grace to false teachers. They never expose them but they show extreme intolerance towards those who expose those false teachers. Isn’t it enough to know on whose side they are and which spirit is leading them?
Preachers can’t love truth without hating falsity and in order to hate lies in truth, they must expose the lies and false teachers. They constantly have to be in negative ministry of correction and rebuking just as they love to be in positive ministry, just as the Holy Spirit led Jude to do:
“Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” (Jude 3-4)
This is what Paul taught Titus:
“Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith.” (Titus 1:13)
To conclude, preaching is as much an act of hatred as love. Preachers must hate falsity and expose false teachers to truly love truth and their sheep.
Therefore, preaching is an act of hatred.
