THREE TIPS FOR BETTER MARRIAGE

Don’t Be Led By Your Heart:

better marriage

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9

The world will tell you to listen to your heart, but the bible tells you to never be led by it. It is the most deceptive thing in the whole world. Your heart will tell you things that are not true. Instead, listen to God’s Word, the Bible and the God-given conscience that helps you distinguish right from wrong.

Be Self Controlled:

A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls. Proverbs 25:28

If you don’t bridle your negative emotions, your marriage will be devastated.

Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger… James 1:19

And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry. Ephesians 4:26

First of all, avoid being angry. Be patient and long suffering. If you do burst into anger, don’t let the sun go down on it i.e. overcome it and reconcile with your spouse by being humble and talking as soon as possible. Every moment that is passing is exacerbating the things in your marriage.

Forgive:

Love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:2

A good marriage is made by two good forgivers.  True love is unconditional. It forgives and lets go.

Forgiveness liberates you from the bondage of anger and bitterness.
